Feel free to skip this.

Hell, why not. I figured I'd post some of my song lyrics on here for fun, so all you padres can read my vaguely-intellectual attempts at prog-emo. Haha. I'm such a fucking loser.

The Blind Cartographer
This song is about love. How sometimes you want it so bad, but at the same time, you hate the person you want it from.

I follow the paths of your fingerprints
A covert maze within palms pressed flat
Your hand over my mouth; my pulse grows stronger
The antidote congealing in my veins
Autonomous digits trace the geography of skin
Trying to fit the pieces into a somatic map
You try to read me by putting me down on paper,
But I remain translucent, diffusing light, your pupils dilate and see right through.
(I feel for the texture of turmoil, the chainsaw voice, your heart in the dark. I'm bleeding from the ears, my bones are full of holes, the sounds I make better left unsaid.)
You neglected to check your naiivety at the door
Fluent in tongues of fallacy, I continue to elude you
Give up now and you can leave with what you have
I'm but a plague, crouched and ready to ravage
If you listen close, you can hear the tranquil wax and wane of atria
And if you hold me tight enough, you can feel the beating of my heart
Wasting away, a metronome ellipsis...

You Signed Away Your Better Half
This song is about all the people in the world who think it's trendy to be 'depressed'. The people who are a walking insult to those with serious mental disorders.

Ripped seams of body bags; they step, emaciated, into the streets
A skeletal cavalry, wielding swords and ill-will
They've come for you, who else?
You wish you hadn't cried wolf; you wish, but your prayers rise only to fall
(What's left to do but run for your life? The life you turned your back on. Do you run to or fro?)
A cursory courtship with reality was not enough
You took it all for granted
Your lunatic love-affair got you this far, then left you for dead
Melodramatics can't help you now; consumed by the clamor, the curtains close

What You Thought Was A Love Song
This song is about loving someone so much and not getting anything back, to the point where even if they suddenly reached for you, you would stab them in the back. I'm such a romantic person.

You said you wanted to give me a try, as if I've been waiting here the whole time just to hear those words.
This won't be your gain, as I have nothing to lose, and nothing to reward your 'chivalry'.
I'll be your stimulant; lifting you up to puncture the atmosphere, then leaving you to bleed like ink, back to the ground.
From rapture to rivalry; a bloodflow severed slowly leaves but a hollow heart
Intoxicated, you stumble through what you though was ideal, and I leave no bread-crumb trail for you to follow.
With no point of reference, you slip into delusion
You fall; a fluid arc, sweetened with intertia; to meet the ground with open arms
Vultures trace holes in the sky, anticipating your impending decay

Death As A Final Irony
This song is, quite obviosly, about death. I think that's all I have to say.

You came close
You came close to realizing why some people need a god
She slipped away in the night; raped of the priviledge of seeing another sunrise
The sentinels inside you couldn't hold back your tears
You lost yourself, the tragedy seduced you, now you're lower than you could have ever fathomed
They say seeing is believing, and you've nearly forgotten her face
You have his arms, forever too small, and you curse him because you can't reach
You fall short of holding her hand
All you want is to hold her hand
They say believing is seeing, and you've nearly forgotten her face

So there you go. You will most likely see these lyrics put to music as my band gets their asses in gear. We still need a bassist. Anyone know any hot bassists? Hahaa.
